My work, oil paintings and watercolors/works on paper, can be placed in the tradition of abstract expressionism, a movement in the visual arts that originated in New York in the postwar years in the middle of the last century. Sculptors like David Smith, Mark di Suvero and John Chamberlain, and painters like Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman, gave shape to this movement. The concept of abstract expressionism remains a source of inspiration, how much time and context in which I work/paint may differ from the years of its origin.
